Best advice for visitors? Croatia is so much more than just its beautiful Dalmatian islands or Game of Thrones locations. If you limit yourself, you'll be missing out on amazing places like its buzzing capital, magical hilltop towns, truffle hunting, wine and olive oil tasting, and UNESCO national parks.
Best time to visit Croatia? While summer is often the best time to visit, if you're looking to escape the crowds there are a lot of things happening during the winter season! Think of niche country-wide festivals (olive, sausage, music, film, lights, flowers, chocolate and coffee, Renaissance, wine, gastronomic), various regattas, Christmas markets, Rijeka Carnival, marathons...the list goes on and on!

PROFILE | Linda is a dual citizen of Croatia and Slovenia and to be honest, she cannot decide which country she loves more! Her interest in tourism and travel started in high school where she graduated as a tourism technician and afterwards she studied in Trieste, Italy. Her knowledge and passion for the Friuli Venezia Giulia area grew as well as Istrian Peninsula and Kvarner Gulf.
Linda is on a personal quest to see the world and by working as a travel designer, her job is also her hobby and her dream come true. What part of Croatia is worth visiting? Croatia is a beautiful country with over 1200 islands, islets and rocks, 8 national parks, 11 nature parks and some of the most wonderful and caring people in the world. The great thing about visiting Croatia is that you can come visit anytime of year and have a unique experience. In the summer, you can get almost tropical weather on the coast, in the spring or autumn you can visit Istria or Kvarner Bay, and in the winter you can enjoy Zagreb's Christmas Advent (voted “Best Christmas Market Award” by European Best Destinations three years in a row from 2016 – 2018) or visit the Opatija Advent, which leaves people breathless.
Any tips for visiting Croatia? If a traveler is seeking peace and quiet, I would avoid Dalmatia in the high season (June, July and August) and visit some of the charming Istrian villages instead where visitors can get some good rest and authentic experiences by the sea or in the countryside.
